Automating Instagram Product Content for a Dubai Online Boutique, Janani Designz

Janani Designz is a Dubai-based online boutique that needed a faster way to create and publish product content on Instagram.

Like many fashion and boutique businesses in the UAE, they receive regular product photos from suppliers, but turning those images into polished social media posts still takes a lot of manual effort.

The team had to review supplier images, choose which products to post, create better-looking visuals, prepare carousel content, write captions, and publish everything on Instagram. This process was repetitive, time-consuming, and hard to keep consistent.

Formis Technologies helped build an AI agent workflow to automate a large part of this process while still keeping human approval in place.

The goal was not to fully replace the marketing team. The goal was to reduce the manual work involved in preparing Instagram content and make the posting process more consistent for a Dubai online boutique.

The Challenge

Supplier images are useful, but they are not always ready for Instagram.

Some photos have poor lighting. Some are taken on basic backgrounds. Some include supplier branding or unwanted visual elements. Others may show the product clearly, but do not feel like a proper boutique photoshoot image.

For Janani Designz, Instagram is an important sales and discovery channel. The content has to look polished, attractive, and consistent enough for customers to trust the brand.

The main challenges were:

  • Supplier product images were not always social-media ready

  • Creating photoshoot-style visuals manually took time

  • Preparing Instagram carousel posts was repetitive

  • Posting consistently required daily effort

  • AI-generated images still needed review before publishing

  • Some generated outputs could contain mistakes, such as unwanted logos or visual artifacts

One important lesson came from a real issue during testing. In one generated photoshoot image, a supplier logo ended up appearing in the final visual. This made it clear that approval should never be skipped for customer-facing content.

The Solution

Formis Technologies built an AI agent workflow using Hermes Agent, connected to Instagram through Composio.

The workflow starts with supplier product photos. The AI agent processes the images, improves them into photoshoot-style creatives, prepares them for Instagram carousel format, and supports the publishing flow.

Composio is used to connect Hermes Agent with Instagram, allowing the agent to interact with the Instagram posting workflow instead of leaving everything as disconnected files.

The process looks like this:

  1. Supplier product photos are collected

  2. Hermes Agent processes the images

  3. The product images are converted into polished photoshoot-style creatives

  4. Carousel content is prepared for Instagram

  5. Captions or post text can be generated based on the product

  6. A human reviews the content before it goes live

  7. Approved content is published or scheduled on Instagram through the connected workflow

The approval step is a key part of the system. AI can speed up the work, but for brand content, a human still needs to check the final output.

Why Hermes Agent Was Used

The team initially explored OpenClaw for this type of workflow, but Hermes Agent proved to be more reliable for the actual automation.

The workflow needed multiple steps to work smoothly: handling product images, preparing content, connecting with Instagram, and supporting a review process. Hermes Agent was better suited for this because it handled the flow more consistently.

For Instagram automation, reliability matters. A small failure can create bad posts, missed schedules, or content that does not match the boutique’s brand. Hermes Agent gave the team more confidence in running the workflow repeatedly.

Image Generation Learnings

Different image generation models were tested during the process.

Nano Banana Pro produced better-looking images in many cases. Some outputs looked very realistic and closer to a proper boutique photoshoot. However, the cost was higher, which made it important to balance quality and budget.

For an online boutique posting regularly, image generation cost matters. The best model is not always the most expensive one. The right choice depends on the number of posts, the product margins, and how premium the content needs to look.

The practical approach was to use stronger image generation where it made sense, while keeping the overall workflow cost under control.

Human Approval Was Critical

One of the biggest takeaways from this project was that AI automation should not mean removing humans completely.

In one test, the generated image included a supplier logo in the photoshoot-style output. If the system had posted automatically, that could have created a brand issue.

Because the workflow included review before publishing, the issue was caught before going live.

This is why Formis recommends human approval for any AI workflow that touches public-facing content, especially social media, ads, product visuals, customer messages, or brand communication.

AI agents are excellent at speeding up repetitive tasks. But human review protects the brand.

The Impact

The automation helped reduce the time needed to prepare Instagram content from supplier images.

Instead of manually turning every product photo into social media content, the team could use the AI agent to generate polished visuals and prepare carousel posts faster.

The biggest benefits were:

  • Faster content preparation

  • More consistent Instagram posting

  • Better use of supplier product images

  • Reduced manual design effort

  • Easier carousel creation

  • Human approval before publishing

  • A more repeatable marketing workflow for a Dubai online boutique

The workflow also made it easier to scale content production. As more supplier images come in, the process can handle them in a structured way instead of depending fully on manual effort.

What This Shows About AI Agents

This project is a good example of where AI agents work well for Dubai SMEs and online businesses.

The task was specific. The input was clear. The output was clear. The workflow had repeatable steps. There was also a human approval layer for safety.

That is usually where AI automation gives the best results.

Instead of saying "automate our marketing", the better approach is to define one workflow clearly:

  • Supplier image comes in.

  • AI improves the image.

  • Carousel is prepared.

  • Caption is drafted.

  • Human reviews.

  • Post goes live.

This type of focused automation is more practical for SMEs than trying to build a large, complex AI system from day one.

Conclusion

For Janani Designz, a Dubai online boutique, the AI agent workflow helped turn basic supplier product photos into more polished Instagram content with less manual effort.

By using Hermes Agent, Composio, image generation tools, and a human approval process, Formis Technologies created a practical automation system that supports real marketing work instead of just demonstrating AI for the sake of it.

The key lesson is simple: AI agents work best when they are built around a real business process.

For Instagram automation, the goal should not be fully autonomous posting. The goal should be faster content creation, better consistency, and a review process that protects the brand before anything goes public.
